Fast and Fearless tells the riveting true story of Hellé Nice, a fearless French race car driver who shattered gender barriers in the 1920s and ’30s to become one of the most celebrated figures in motorsport. Born Mariette Hélène Delangle, she rose from Paris cabaret star to international racing sensation, earning the title “The Queen of Speed” for her daring performances on the track.

Blending rare archival footage with commentary from historians and contemporary female racers, the film traces Nice’s rise, her record-breaking achievements, and the dazzling charisma that made her a media darling. But it also explores the devastating turn her life took—beginning with a near-fatal crash in Brazil, followed by wartime turmoil, and ultimately, her unjust fall from grace after being falsely accused of Nazi collaboration.

Shunned and forgotten, Hellé died in obscurity in 1984. Today, her legacy is being rediscovered. This documentary reclaims her story, celebrating a woman whose courage and skill broke barriers—and who deserves her rightful place in racing history.
